Texas Tech University and the Department of Geosciences offers a variety of scholarship opportunities for undergraduates. |Ann and Dennis Bell Geology Endowed Scholarship||Student in GEOS awarded for field course semester. Student must show evidence of at least an average of 15 hours per week part-time employment in the semester prior to the field course. Student should have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a Geosciences GPA of 2.8.|
|Colombine Logging Scholarship||Two one-year $1000 scholarships beginning 4th year working towards BS in Geosciences with Geology concentration - (two senior-level UG students) who have exceled in the classroom and have an interest in Petroleum Geol, focus on Sed Strat. Oil and Gas industry career goals, with particular emphasis on gaining field experience in well-site geology.|
|Geology Excellence Fund|
|Frank M Hall Endowed Scholarship||To be given to a student who is a Geosciences major (preferable geophysics concentration), maintains a 3.5 in major, and is a resident of Texas.|
|Alonzo D Jacka Endowed Scholarship||Undergraduate or graduate students. To support research in sedimentary petrology, especially as applied to hydrocarbon exploration and production. Based on research achievement and academic merit under criteria established by the department.|
|Michael Kincer Mem Geology Endowed Scholarship||Undergraduate students majoring in Geosciences (Geology concentration).|
|Lubbock Gem and Mineral Society||Undergraduate student (sophomore, jr., or sr.) persuing a degree in the field of Earth Sciences with 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Financial need to be considered.|
|Dr Grover E Murray Endowed Scholarship||Undergraduate GEOS students.|
|Rasmusson Family Scholarship||Undergraduate students with first preference given to GPH concentration, with a 3.0 GPA and who demonstrate academic merit based upon dept. criteria. $500.00 per scholarship.|
|Rogers and Rosen Memorial Endowed Scholarship||Senior Undergraduate students in GEOS with a 3.0 GPA.|
|Deskin Shurbet Endowed Scholarship||Jr. and Sr. undergraduate and graduate students in GEOS pursuing concentration in Geophysics.|
|Sigma Gamma Epsilon||Undergraduate students majoring in Geosciences (Geology concentration).|
|Dr F Alton Wade Geology Endowed Scholarship||Senior Undergraduate students in GEOS with a 3.0 GPA.|
|Vestal and Ouida Yeats Endowed Scholarship||Sophomores, juniors, and seniors majoring in GEOS and will be based on academic achievement.|
